A camera-based lookout — spot what's out there, warn early, let the human decide.
Vision
AI vision is a camera and radar lookout running on the boat itself, not in the cloud, so it can warn about things AIS misses — an unlit boat, a mooring ball, debris — fast enough to matter. It's a hypothesis I want to test, not a roadmap: it only ever detects and warns, and a human always decides what to do about it.
Where it is now
Planned. The pattern for publishing a detection onto the shared data bus already exists elsewhere in the platform; the camera, radar, and detection code itself doesn't exist yet.
