32°N Security Hub Scan

Security · Hub auto-scan

Scanning that runs without you.

Install the 32°N Hub and every device on your boat's network gets scanned automatically, on a schedule, without you ever running a command. Findings show up on your boat dashboard. If something new joins the network, you'll know.

How it works

Three pieces, one flow.

The Hub already sits on your boat's network as the device that runs the 32°N apps. Auto-scan is one of those apps. It uses the same Marine Security Scanner that the CLI uses, just scheduled and feeding findings into your dashboard instead of a terminal.

1

Hub

The Hub on your boat runs the scan on a cadence — daily light scan, weekly full audit. You can override the schedule or trigger a scan manually.

2

svc-scanner

Findings flow up to the 32°N scanner backend. It correlates each result against the published advisory corpus and attaches severity + suggested remediation.

3

Your dashboard

Findings land on /boats/$slug/marine-security — your boat, your eyes only. Triage them, mark them closed, or set "remind me next year" for the ones that need parts.

What runs automatically

Built for unattended scans.

The Hub auto-scan is more conservative than the manual CLI scan — no aggressive probing, no anything that could interfere with your live electronics underway. It's designed to be safe to leave running on a boat with the autopilot engaged.

Network inventory

Every device on the boat's network — what model, what firmware version, what services exposed. Flags anything new that joins the network since the last scan.

Advisory matching

Cross-references the inventory against the 32°N advisory corpus. If your chartplotter's firmware matches a known issue, you'll see it on the dashboard with the suggested fix.

Configuration drift

Notices when something changes — a port that wasn't open before, a service that's running where it wasn't yesterday, a device whose firmware version shifted unexpectedly.

Owner-only findings

Per-boat findings live on your dashboard and nowhere else. Even crew you've added to the boat can't see them — only the owner. The public corpus is the only thing 32°N shares broadly.

Get started

Install the Hub.

Auto-scan ships with the Hub. The full Hub install story lives at /platform/hub. Once it's running on your boat, auto-scan is on by default — findings start appearing on your dashboard within an hour of the first scan.
